Begin using a pea-size amount once weekly. Gradually increase how often, but not how much; based on how your skin response. If any redness or irritation is noted the next day, you should skip that night’s application.

Apply your retinol serum to the entire face and neck. Wait three minutes and apply a small amount of moisturizer. Use the retinol serum for two nights on, one night off, alternating with an exfoliating acid serum (such as AHA, BHA serums etc.) and a nourishing treatment serum.

Since retinol is pushing up skin cells to the surface at a faster rate, retinol can cause micro-peeling (invisible peeling) in most skin types, so it’s best to alternate with other serums. Because it takes two days for the cells to regenerate to the surface and cause the skin to get flaky, using an exfoliating serum (such as our 5% or 10% Glycolic Acid Serum) on the third day is perfect to remove the surface dead cells that appear. Also, retinol may work even better when used back on the skin on the forth and fifth day, because now it can penetrate deeper into the skin because of the acid exfoliation the night before. Then, a hydrating or replenishing serum is added to the mix once a week (on the sixth day) to give the skin a break, using barrier repair and nourishing ingredients to keep the skin calm and hydrated.  Repeat the cycle.  It’s also important to do it this way simply because the skin performs its best when it has a variety of high-performance ingredients instead of the same one ingredient night in and night out.

Your routine should look something like this:

Day 1: Time Release 3.4% Retinol Serum & 10% Vitamin C Serum

Day 2: Time Release 3.4% Retinol Serum & 10% Vitamin C Serum

Day 3: 5% or 10％ Glycolic Acid Serum

Day 4: Time Release 3.4% Retinol Serum & 10 % Vitamin C Serum

Day 5: Time Release 3.4% Retinol Serum & Vitamin C Serum

Day 6: Any hydrating / replenishing serum

Repeat the cycle

Our 10% Vitamin C Serum helps to boost the effectiveness of our Time Release 3.4% Retinol serum even further.  Both can be used in the AM and PM for maximum results.  For sensitive skins, you can use these serums at different times of the day.

Instructions:

Apply a small amount of serum to face and lightly massage until absorbed. Use AM & PM after toner and before moisturizer. Be sure to wear sunscreen during the day on areas where you've used this treatment.

For sensitive skins, we recommend using this only at night.
